AAEV sponsors various events at which the public are welcome - for example, periodic “Arts Eco Markets, and two Adelaide Fringe Festival events, “A Day at the Green” showcasing local musicians and entertainers in the relaxed atmosphere of our grassed Village Amphitheatre.

We also participate periodically in the Australasian “Sustainable House Day” sponsored by ANZSES. At these events, several of our unique energy- and water-efficient homes are opened to the public to show their sustainable design and living features.

On public occasions, our own wood-fired pizza oven and outdoor eating facilities provide a unique village-style catering operation.

We have a lot of internal Community events too, of course, including: Village socials, produce swaps, clothing and toy exchanges, Village socials, working bees, planning meetings, discussion forums, and our formal series of General Meetings at which major community decisions are made.

We also participate periodically as a community in various local events - such as the Willunga Almond Blossom Festival, WOMADelaide, and Aldinga on Display.

And then there are events promoted by a villager or group of villagers. For example Steve Poole’s WEA courses on Permaculture and Practical Gardening.
