Mosaics Workshops
19/08/10 17:16
Just a reminder that Mosaics are on every
second Tuesday afternoon at Sue E's
shed, 24 Dianella Way. (It's surprisingly warm,
but if it's a really cold day we put the heater
on).
Beginners or people with one-off projects are welcome. You don't have to commit to every fortnight, or be mosaic addicts like Vi and me. Afternoon tea is provided by a generous neighbour. Check the Village calendar if you lose track of which Tuesday it's on.
The next session is next Tuesday 24 August at 1pm.

Invitation to BIOCULAR Exhibition
19/07/10 17:41
Greetings!
You are invited to the official opening of BIOCULAR......Fleurieu artists with double vision:
See ATTACHED flyer.
Featuring the work of six Fleurieu artists, including HEIDI KARO, 2009 SALA ADVERTISER CONTEMPORARY ART AWARD WINNER, Biocular is an opportunity to experience the brilliance, eccentricities and unique vision of Southern Adelaide artists as part of this years SALA festival.
BIOCUALR follows on from the overwhelmingly positive audience response of last year's sell out OCULAR SALA festival exhibition. Brought together by a common desire to explore their ocular visions and double vision, Brian O'Malley, Heidi Karo, Jaynie Langford, Kim Thomson, Stephen Holder and Ilona Dickson have produced works in the mediums of painting and
jewellery.
Held at O'MALLEY'S STUDIO GALLERY - located between Aldinga's pristine beaches and the Aldinga Scrub Conservation Park - BIOCULAR is an immersive experience not to be missed.
We would love to see you there!
Regards - The OCULAR collective

Playground Design Group report
25/05/09 16:23
The playground design meeting last Saturday
produced some great ideas towards developing a
whole of village playspace design to be presented
to villagers soon.
During the meeting Justin led a workshop with the kids and parents, and together they built a temporary humpy (see photos ATTACHED) as an example of a natural playspace. The humpy will be reviewed in 3 months to decide if it is to be maintained or removed.
If you would like to know more about the playground progress, please contact me.

Interesting co-housing website
25/08/08 15:09
Muir Commons was the first purpose built
Cohousing in the USA. It was also McCamant &
Durrett's first Cohousing project. It was
designed through a process starting with ads in
the media in 2001, and built in 2002. Their big
solar array went up in 2003. There are 26 units
of clustered, attached housing facing across a
central path. There are good details & photos

Art with environmental punch
28/07/08 15:09
Statistics are a very dry way to present
information. Art, on the other hand, is one of
the most powerful tools we have for linking a
message with emotional impact. Have a look at
this link sent in by Sue Wiseman. Art is cleverly
used to portray statistics as a very scary
message!
